  Monika McGreal Viola is a writer based in Washington, DC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle East Studies from Brown University, a Master of Arts in Fiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Philosophy in Anglo-Irish Writing from Trinity College, Dublin. Monika has been involved in humanitarian work in Bosnia and Haiti, and she has lived in New York, Providence, and Dublin. Her work has appeared in PennUnion, Common Ties, Icarus Literary Magazine, Hermeneutic Chaos Literary Journal, Thirteen Ways Magazine, and AZURE. In 2015, she attended the Yale Writers' Conference and Bread Loaf in Sicily.
